This blog is just about my life and mostly revolves around my son, Jamie. This blog is a combination of everything, whether it may be a new recipe I tried, a good freebie I found, something funny Jamie said, or feelings I'm having about life in general. There's little rhyme or reason. I'll never win any blogging awards, but I enjoy writing about our lives and I mostly do it for my son. It's so easy to forget moments over the years. I've got all these little tidbits of our life in print and I hope that someday Jamie can enjoy them.

I called this blog Mother of Life, Mother of Loss because of my issues with pregnancy loss and the joy of finally bringing this wonderful person into the world. Truly, I feel the pains of loss, but you won't see too much of that here. I am blessed and I am, above all else, a mother of life.

After all the years of infertility and loss, Matthew and I were blessed with a surprise pregnancy. We were pregnant with twins, but unfortunately, Baby A could not stay with us. Baby B grew into a healthy and happy baby girl that we named Bella Marie. We are so blessed to have two beautiful children.

Pap's Birthday

Today is Matthew's grandfather's birthday. He turned 82 today. Jamie and the girls call him Pap. Jamie won't have much to do with him. That's just the way that Jamie is with most people. It bothers Pap a little. I can tell. After all, Jamie got his first name from him. I try to explain how Jamie is to people, but I don't think most people understand. He won't even give his Daddy kisses. Sometimes he gives him hugs, but rarely. I'm the only person who gets smothered with affection. It wasn't always that way. He used to be rather stingy even with me.

We went out to Red Lobster to celebrate. Usually when Matthew and I go to Red Lobster we just share our food with him. This time he didn't want anything to do with our food. He ate 5 cheddar bay biscuits and half of his grandmother's steak. After we ate he showed off his writing abilities.

I couldn't hear what Grandpa said when he said the prayer. His voice has become so soft and weak. I know he got choked up. I wonder if he got choked up because he realizes this will be his last. It may be the last time the family gets together again. It's all in Gods time, but the doctors say he is not going to make it much longer.

Dynisha is spending the night at her parents house tonight. I wonder when she'll come back. At the restaurant she complained because she wanted to sleep on the couch and not in the room with her Mamaw. I think her mom decided to let her, but I'm not sure.
