This blog is just about my life and mostly revolves around my son, Jamie. This blog is a combination of everything, whether it may be a new recipe I tried, a good freebie I found, something funny Jamie said, or feelings I'm having about life in general. There's little rhyme or reason. I'll never win any blogging awards, but I enjoy writing about our lives and I mostly do it for my son. It's so easy to forget moments over the years. I've got all these little tidbits of our life in print and I hope that someday Jamie can enjoy them.

I called this blog Mother of Life, Mother of Loss because of my issues with pregnancy loss and the joy of finally bringing this wonderful person into the world. Truly, I feel the pains of loss, but you won't see too much of that here. I am blessed and I am, above all else, a mother of life.

After all the years of infertility and loss, Matthew and I were blessed with a surprise pregnancy. We were pregnant with twins, but unfortunately, Baby A could not stay with us. Baby B grew into a healthy and happy baby girl that we named Bella Marie. We are so blessed to have two beautiful children.

Expectations

Last night, as I set up the living room for Easter I had a picture in my head of my happy little boy waking and smiling brightly as he found the surprise the Easter Bunny had left him. Dynisha would be beaming from ear to ear. The would dance and laugh and be generally be merry.

That isn't exactly how it went down. Though they were happy to see their Easter baskets, Jamie was generally cranky and cried for much of the morning. "I don't want breakfast!", "I don't want my picture taken!!", "I don't want milk!" His hair is a mess and I couldn't get it to do a darn thing. He's a little under the weather and has a snotty little nose. I dressed him up in the adorable Aviator outfit I got him to wear for Easter. He peed his pants and is now wearing the shirt (that he spilled milk on) with a pair of red underwear. I felt like pulling my hair out.

Now that the initial commotion of the morning is over, Jamie is happily playing in the floor with a little puzzle he got in his basket. Dynisha is dressed and waiting to be picked up to go to church with her parents. I did manage, with some coaxing, to get some fairly decent pictures, as well.
I always want everything to be perfect. I want the pictures to look like they could grace the cover of a magazine. The truth is that the picture of perfection never really happens. Once you adjust your expectations, you can see that however the moment turns out, it really is perfect.
I'll put up more Easter pictures later. Easter is just getting started!
