This blog is just about my life and mostly revolves around my son, Jamie. This blog is a combination of everything, whether it may be a new recipe I tried, a good freebie I found, something funny Jamie said, or feelings I'm having about life in general. There's little rhyme or reason. I'll never win any blogging awards, but I enjoy writing about our lives and I mostly do it for my son. It's so easy to forget moments over the years. I've got all these little tidbits of our life in print and I hope that someday Jamie can enjoy them.

I called this blog Mother of Life, Mother of Loss because of my issues with pregnancy loss and the joy of finally bringing this wonderful person into the world. Truly, I feel the pains of loss, but you won't see too much of that here. I am blessed and I am, above all else, a mother of life.

After all the years of infertility and loss, Matthew and I were blessed with a surprise pregnancy. We were pregnant with twins, but unfortunately, Baby A could not stay with us. Baby B grew into a healthy and happy baby girl that we named Bella Marie. We are so blessed to have two beautiful children.

Pain in the You Know What

I finally dragged myself to the doctor today. I'm notoriously bad about putting off going to the doctor until I'm in desperate need. Well, desperation finally kicked in. For the most part I don't know anything that is new to me. The doctor thinks I might be having problems with my gallbladder, but I won't know until the blood work comes back in a few days. Of course, when I show up she squeezes everything in that she can. She took five vials of blood and performed a PAP smear, my first in about four years. Shame on me, I know.

The highlight of my visit today was the draining of an abscess a little larger than an egg that has left me with an inability to sit. I should have asked for a hemorrhoid donut. I may still have to have it cut out completely. I already feel like the ability to ever be sexy again is gone. A big whole in my rear would pretty much guarantee that I would never wear a thong for my hubby again.

Matthew has taken Jamie to Mr. Ghatti's Pizza to give me some time to rest and recuperate. I'm so glad that they are doing something together, a bit of a boys night out. Jamie was so excited. Matthew talked to me on the phone until they sat down to eat. I could hear Jamie. He was just so happy. Matthew would never have gone without me if I wasn't ill. Jamie needs to do things occasionally with just Daddy. It's a great bonding experience.
