This blog is just about my life and mostly revolves around my son, Jamie. This blog is a combination of everything, whether it may be a new recipe I tried, a good freebie I found, something funny Jamie said, or feelings I'm having about life in general. There's little rhyme or reason. I'll never win any blogging awards, but I enjoy writing about our lives and I mostly do it for my son. It's so easy to forget moments over the years. I've got all these little tidbits of our life in print and I hope that someday Jamie can enjoy them.

I called this blog Mother of Life, Mother of Loss because of my issues with pregnancy loss and the joy of finally bringing this wonderful person into the world. Truly, I feel the pains of loss, but you won't see too much of that here. I am blessed and I am, above all else, a mother of life.

After all the years of infertility and loss, Matthew and I were blessed with a surprise pregnancy. We were pregnant with twins, but unfortunately, Baby A could not stay with us. Baby B grew into a healthy and happy baby girl that we named Bella Marie. We are so blessed to have two beautiful children.

An Evening With the Girls

Brianna came over this evening for awhile. Matthew picked her up on the way home from work. She was hoping for school to be called off so she could spend the night. No such luck.

I was worried what this visit would hold. She's been kind of rough on her sister. She's becoming a smart mouth teenager too quickly, too! I'm finding it very difficult to have patience with her attitude. I told her she was welcome here any time. I love her. She just has to check her attitude at the door. She did.

It was a lovely evening. The three kids gathered around the computer and listened to music. They had supper together and ate well. Brianna and Dynisha both sung the praises of my culinary abilities vs. what they get at home. I ate that up, of course. I put Jamie to bed and the girls quietly swooned over music artists online until the time came for Matthew to take Brianna home. I was so glad it went well. I miss the Brianna that used to visit and who we enjoyed keeping so much. I used to do everything with her. I used to do everything for her. You know, she said Laura before she said Mama. She used to consider Matthew and I a package deal, too. Soon after learning my name, she learned to say Matt. Then she simply called us both "Laur, Laur, Matt, Matt" or "Laur, Laur, Matchew." Tonight, I had my old Bri Bri for a little while. I really love that. It's too bad school wasn't called off.
